A friend of mine found her art stolen and sold on etsy. When I went to look, I recognized ALSO art by Sion Lee, the guy who founded IndiePublic (I love his stuff so it looked familiar right away.)

This person has made 703 sales since March !!! I suggest some of you might want to check to see if there is anything you recognize.

Looks like the two Etsy products you linked to have been taken down. I assume you or the original artists reported them, so Etsy probably removed the listings already, which is good.

Sucks when people feel that they can rip off others.
Unsure of a feature? Check the tutorials. Still confused? Ask me!

I'm glad to hear it. Still, I doubt she will refrain from continuing ripping off others. I imagine she was the one who removed them -- I know my friend sent a very pointed email and notified Sion as well.

honestly, the nerve of people.

This is awful!! She has actually made OVER 1,700 sales in the last 3 months or so! (700 is her feedback)
Agh... even the number of sales seems fishy to me.

According to my friend the response Sion got was basically a "oh, oops, I guess I need to watch where I get my images" sort of thing.

1,700 -- $10,000? in 2 months? Oh please. Yeah, something's waaay off here. I just didn't think that sort of thing could be manipulated by a seller, hmm...

hmm, well perhaps Im wrong. but do buyers generally by 4-10 items in a row? like 90% of buyers? check out the feedback... if so, i would love to know what we are doing wrong. does anyone else get every buyers to make multi purchases like this? im a little confused... i hate getting involved in these things, im just curious if this looks strange or if we are just not good sellers on etsy...

I get buyers who purchase 3 or 4 things at a time, but its not often. She does sell those pendants for CHEAP! So that could be part of the reason for her "success" Still, the # of sales in the last 2 months are pretty unreal.

Hmmm. Isn't that "Keep Calm and Carry On" pendant someone else's artwork, too? I know I've seen it somewhere in poster form.

Check out how many users have that in their "art"

I bought that poster from sfbaygirl a few months ago, so I instantly recognized it!
Maybe it is okay because it is considered vintage and well known?

I recognized Old School Stationers work among their designs, so I contacted them and they are going after her as well.

This type of thing makes me sick.

She may have that # of 'sales' and feedback because of trades?? I think she contacts people and wants items of theirs and will trade for like 4-10 of her own maybe? That's the only thing that makes sense, because not SO MANY customers in a row would do multiple piece orders, you know?

I wonder if this thread is about her too? http://www.etsy.com/forums_thread.php?thre...5475&page=1 :o

That thread is definitely about her- if you go deeper into it, she starts posting.

I wonder how this doesn't fall under mass-produced items. No way she's got enough time to make a 1000 in a month without outsourcing on the cheap.

In regards to the comments about the number of items sold, the reason she has so many multiple purchases is because she offers free shipping on additional items. You also have to by the chains and ribbons separately. And the items are dirt cheap. So that is why she has so many sales.

But her blatant disrespect for other artists is awful. I think they must not be handmade too for that price and the number sold...
